PolitisNet UNEP/MAP

Interegionet is a system for the management of international telematic network, for the promotion of transnational, trans-border and inter-regional co-operation. Under this framework, among other things, it provides support services to different projects and community initiatives of E.U., as well as, projects implemented under the criteria of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the "Mediterranean Action Plan" of UNEP
Like:

Project NetWet (Community Initiative Interreg II C/ Cadses), giving them also the ability to communicate (via telematic transmission) with the partners of project Wetlands (Community Initiative Interreg II C/ Cadses).
   

Project Mediterranean CoastNet 1 (Archi-med, pilot action of article 10 of ERDF).

   
Project Pan (Community Initiative Interreg II C/ Medoc).
   
Project Mediterranean CoastNet 2 InterCoastNet (Development Assistance Committee - DAC/OECD).
   
Project PolitisNet (Mediterranean Action Plan of UNEP-MAP/UNEP).

It's a system for the management of international telematic network that unites the Regions, the Prefectures, the Municipalities, technical and scientific institutions, which are located in different countries. The partners of the network among themselves, but also the citizen, who visits the Interegionet network by INTERNET, have the ability to communicate directly with all the other members who participate in this network, regardless of the geographical location. Through INTERNET and by the means of EURO-ISDN digital networks, Interegionet network:
Ensures the equal access of participating member, and
   
Contributes to the reinforcement of regional cohesion and the balanced development of space.
   
By these actions Interegionet network:
Reinforces the introduction of information society to the regional development policies, and
   
Contributes to the convergence between the most-favoured and the least-favoured regions, and particularly by relieving frontier regions of their natural and geographical limitations.
